Shinto saw rasps are made from riveting bandsaw blades together in a diamond pattern which creates an extremely aggressive cut with little to no tear out. The pattern also facilitates the removal of the dust from the rasp itself and is resistant to clogging. The SR30 model has a crank handle to enable the rasp to be used similar to a plane and in applications where a straight handle would get in the way. The reversible blade is medium on one side and coarse on the other.
